Rosendal Garden is a joy for ones senses. This time of the year one can safely say the theme is apples. Eddie and I where there with lovely Kristine and sweet Lykke. So many fantastic tastes, scents and visual impressions in one place. The Garden café is open until 21st December. We'll probably be returning soon. Otherwise I'm knitting on a Paper Crane in stiff linen, but it's moving slowly.

Beyond knitting

Aestlight
Aestlight
Aestlight

A good blocking really makes difference to a knitted shawl. This Aestlight shawl was finished in March, and since then been waiting to get soaked, pinned out and self dry. This is how it looked before.

Kusmi's high quality teas is a autumn luxuary, of which Anastasia and Prince Vladimir are favourites. Kashmir Tchai, a new acquaintance, is also really nice. Fine handmade chocolates is another treat. The nearby chocolate shops I know well, but please share about shops (not only in Stockholm) at pralinkartan.se

What an election drama this year. Not only do we now have a party in the parliament who doesn't like immigration, but we're also following the counting of votes since Sunday, to see if the right-center alliance will get a majority government. We are talking a few votes difference. Huh. There's been so much blogged, tweeted, facebooked around this election. How did we manage before the social media era?

If I could choose business there would be more knitting. Next knitting project is probably a Paper Crane. Remains to be seen how it will work out with the yarn I've chosen, which has another gauge than the recommended yarn. With some swatching and recalculations I should be able to figure out something.

Buddhalicious

Well at Östasiatiska museet we wanted to see some of their ordinary exhibitions. There where plenty of yummy buddha sculptures and pictures to get inspired by. Funniest for the children was of course the childrens department, that also amused the parents, with dragon flying and memory game with Asia as theme.

Now when part of famous Chinese Terracotta army temporarily is in Stockholm we visited the Östasiatiska muséet (East Asian museum) with the children. Characterising for this army, found near emperor Qin Shin Huans tomb, is that everyone is enormously well styled.
1. Obviously a pretty unique general.
2. & 3. A stylish archer with charming topknot and braids on the back of the head.
4. A soldier with lovely knotted scarf and remarkable deco on the head.
5. A charioteer with cool hat slantingly chic on the head.
And then of course we wanted to admire husband's maps and illustrations that he's made for this special exhibition. The maps where just as fine as husband had expected.

Off the knitting needles

The yoga is flowing a bit better. And we're oouuuming and focusing on the third eye. As a three childrens mama I got to struggle some with flexibility and strenght. But Kristine, who is a more yoga experienced three childrens mama, is well neededly pushing me. At last a finished knitting project here. A wrap cardigan, knitted in two pieces and lots of short rows. The back was grafted for a seamless join, and sides and sleeves where put together using ordinary mattress stitch. I used one skein and a few meters of a second skein in moss coloured Suri Blue from Fleece Artist. Knitted with quite large needles, nr 5, it went fast once knitting time was given. The cardi is still unblocked, but as it's quite forgiving it can be formed pretty much any ways (I love saying "any ways" even if I know it's incorrect) using a decorative safety pin. I connection with moving feeds on bloglines (closing-down 1 Oct) to a new reader I have rediscovered old goddies; Creature Comforts blog, The Sartorialist, Whip up.

Leo's drawing

Particularly like this drawing. You must nock on the door or shutter and things will happen. And the signature is so nice, there's a person holding the O.

Ambitions

This constant trying to manage stuff. Beyond ordinary family work. This summer has been fabulous weatherwise. And it has been easy to postpone important stuff. To just live in the present. A baby doesn't also give many minutes of time on your own. But with the autumn and the chilly and cloudy weather life style becomes more homeboud. And you find yourself with a crawling baby and piles of stuff to take care of. That is more difficult to avoid now. It's so important not to loose ones course. At the same time as one lives for the moment, has the strength to plan also for further as good life as possible. Everyone has their way of creating energy. Mine is spending time with my dear ones. Relaxing knitting. Yoga; have begun with an intensive course, that gave me massive aches for over a week. And, to allow myself discover new; a food place, a technique, new materials and scents. What do you do to get new energy?

A day like this

On a day like this. Remember to love yourself. Hug your loved ones, a bit extra. Smile at your neighbours. Take time to give a helping hand to persons in need, that you pass during the day. Nothing else really matters.

Footsteps

Husband and I've become habituées at Petite France. The other day we had a their super nice duck leg confit and pommes salardaises for lunch. It was bit fun, cause on our way there we almost bumped into the Hungarian national team that was having a morning walk at Rålambshovsparken. Husband who is of Hungarian origin immediately recognized the language and the marks on their dresses. We soon realized they where here for the game between Sweden-Hungary that evening. It didn't go that well for them, unfortunately. But they where actually quite good at football until Hungarian Revolution at 1956, when the team fled from Hungary. The childrens grandfather, recently visiting us, was a busy football player when younger. He'd surely not mind if Eddie or someone of the other children would become a player one day. Anthea is going to try playing this autumn anyway and has gotten a pair of proper football shoes.
